The figs and duck confit flatbread, with cheese and balsamic, was rich in the way that makes you consider canceling your plans and ordering a second one.

On the IRCThe mascarpone cream made “just a few bites” an unrealistic plan. A little dark on the chocolate, a little too generous with the booze.

The case for

  • Tagliolini, branzino, and hot chocolate soufflé are a must if this is your first visit
  • So indulgent you may need a brief moment of silence afterward

The case against

  • Makes your usual dinner standards inconveniently higher

"The fusilli with basil and pine nut pesto = good. The filet mignon = very good. Desserts were a reminder that not every course needs to be finished."

The IRC
  • The pasta was good, which is reassuring in an Italian restaurant
  • The fillet mignon was very good, which is what it charged you to be
  • Both desserts - Hazelnut Passion Fruit and IRC - were absolutely not worth the calories
